Underneath the Truth

Constantine:

I take my time getting dressed because if one of these suckers touches my bare chest this place is going to blow up

"Bloody hell." One pokes me with the back of the stick and I miss a few buttons on my shirt.

(Ettimay): "Where else did this creature come from if not you...maybe it followed you?"

I was so hurt she blamed me for this. But then again it happened the ONE night I stay over.

"I did not mother, at least not willingly. Did you send men to the Rapces too?" I ask spitfuly. Fran was always with Eiden if something happened to him if could have been from HER mood. it could have been ADAM snapping from the stress.

It was a bit dark to think but...

I take a deep breath trying to repress the resentment Uncle put in my heart many years ago.
Mother will always see me for what I am...

(Ettimay): "Your father caught it, lets go see.." I nod tiredly and walk down the hall.


.....

"Eiden."

(Ettimay): "Thats Eiden?"

*whimpering pitifuly trying to answer Klaus*

Klaus:

I get off Eiden, all covered in piss.

Great.. someone we know.

Somehow it makes this even worse. Especially knowing it was Eiden.

Francine enters the scene still in her nightgown to see what was happening.

(Francine) "Eiden?"

She kneels down next to him sadly.

Eiden: (Black Shaggy Dog):

I lower my head sadly when Constantine and the queen come over.

So embarrassing..

I cant look at Sir Klaus. THE SHAME.

(Constantine): "I really didn't do it." He said hostility to Klaus as if he expected to be chaise about it.

Francine comes and I am MORDIFIED.

"Arf..."
*raises paw trying to show her the ring somewhere on the hairy paw*

(Constantine): "Awe look hes got tricks down pat..."

Klaus:

I tilt my head at Constantine, trying to understand his tone.

(Francine) "What is it?"

She takes Eiden's paw and feels a ring,

(Francine) "This is new.."

Francine seems to zone out a bit and I frown wondering what she was doing.

I can't believe I am thinking this but may-

Francine pulls off the ring from Eiden's paw and he turns back.

Oh lovely, problem solved.

I turn around embaressed.

Constantine:

I take Dads silence as judgement and pace behind him rather stressed. Before anyone can really gauge this Francine just rips off a ring from the dog's paw and he..turns back so simply.

I mutter and give Eiden my coat though I hate to loose a clothing layer.
(Eiden): "Ah geeze, I cant...believe.."

(Ettimay): "You took something like a ring from the surface!? Isnt that one of the first things we teach you."

Eiden lowers his head ashamed to be called out.

(Eiden): "It was...during the last hunt...sir..on the ground in the earl's garden" He cant even look at Dad.

Wow lucky he didn't take the Xern ring back...
Imagine the trouble bringing Raluca here...

Klaus:

Ettimay scolds Eiden and rightfully so.

I turn to Constantine while the others discussed the incident further.

"Listen, I am sorry. I really am, but now that you know that your mother and I have a past on the surface, you must also realize that there are some one the surface that will try and get in between us. Orion especially."

I speak frank.

"Please, I know things are still raw and you don't feel you can trust us right now, but if you give us another chance we will do better. Just please, promise me you will come to us first should you be told anything.. unsettling."

Constantine:

I tilt my head at Dad's honestly, then smile a little nervously.

I was a bit afraid at what he meant, what ELSE was I going to learn? Is he saying there's more?

"Thank you, I will...Dad."

The fact of the matter is I dont really care what he did before. Its what he isn't doing.
I realized quite recently he turned Uncle and he could control him. Thats why he is so damn weird about my dad.

I wanted nothing more then for Dad to make him a puppet and end it. Uncle's worst fear.
Sure I could go back to playing house with my parents down here like we were and probably be content with it all my life.

but that wasnt fair. Apart of me wanted to fuck it up so bad I force his hand to intervene because once someone kills Uncle....we will never have the control chance again.
It will be psycho Caesar or....the Judge..... and we will never have another shot again.

"...please know I'm not doing this to hurt you..I'm sorry, Is there anything on the surface I can do for you, for the cause?"

Klaus:

I listen to Constantine intently and relax when he seemed to be less angry.

There was still a hint of disappointment in his disposition though.. 

Constantine asks if there was anything he could do to help.

I could tell he wanted to be proactive and perhaps there was a way we could be now that some time has passed and we had more assistance.

"Gather information. Discreetly. Politics, building layouts, the like. When it is safe and only when it is safe to do so contact us and we will meet in secret."

Ettimay:

(Constantine): "I'll try..." He gives Klaus a side hug in that moment.

I look over realizing I missed Klaus and Cause's little interaction that seemed more positive then the last.

*looks back at Eiden more ENRAGED*

(Eiden): "H..ere take it.." He tries to give me the ring and I hesitate. Francine touched it however and it did not give her a reaction. I do finely take it and try to see if I recognize it.

I did. The animal transformation may not have been a snake or hawk but it was similar enough.

(Eiden): "It wont happen again."

"Eiden, you might have... opened a door here...."

(Eiden): "What do you mean?" He paled and he was already pale.

"Your mother sought my help originally because she got bitten by such a thing..if you turned into one wearing this..the curse could be genetic after all.."

I give Francine the ring with a slight agenda.

"Please give this to your father, its gypsy. He can handle it."

Now after all these years why would that be just hanging around?
It was strange...

Francine:

I cringe when Eiden’s past is brought up.

It seems we are all having a rough day after all.

I take the ring Ettimay hands me to bring to dad.

I mean if all it takes to turn back is to remove the ring this might be a good device for sneaking.

Constantine:

I wonder what I would be if I wore the ring, assuming it made you an animal.....

....

best not to know.....

Francine's pause worried Mum.

(Ettie): "Dont put it on Francine..."

"You'd be a lovely filly..." I think that would be the most suiting animal for her yes.

Klaus:

I raise my eyebrow at Cause's strange comment.

I highly doubt it, knowing her bloodline..

(Francine) "Don't worry I wasn't planning on it."

She gets up and pockets the ring.

(Francine) "I will go bring it to dad now before I forget."

...........

I turn to look at Eiden.

"I am going to get a change of clothes, I suggest you do the same."

I half scold before turning to Constantine one last time.

"I'll see you later?"

Constantine:

Poor Eiden, dying of embarrassment..

He hobbles off with my coat. I cant leave it here just in case it has some enchantment on it too. Best to leave everything from the surface there..

I smirk at Dad. Trying not to be amused with what happened too much.

"Yes I'll be around..dont' worry."

I follow Mum back tiredly.

Francine:

I wander to Dad's unit and knock on the door.

Noomi opens it and smiles tiredly.

(Noomi) "Francine? Is everything all right dear?"

I hand her the cursed ring.

"Eiden brought this back from the surface. It appears to be cursed, possibly by gypsies."

I summarize a bit tired myself.

(Noomi) "Hmm, well I suppose we should take this to the lab?"

"Yes."

(Noomi) "But not tonight. How about in the morning?"

I nod my head and wander back to my own unit ready to pass out.
