"Stop stop stop!"

I call to the driver, bloody hell humans drivers!

Reckless!
I see the big lump down in the dirty gutter and move my clock out of the way to get out of the carriage. I dont way for the steps to unwind dowward for me and just jump out swiftly, landing on my feet.

"Hello?? Boy?"

I poke him with my cane being gripped by my gloved hand.

Is he dead....


I yank him by his filthy shirt upward into the carriage to give him first aid.

Constantine:

I hold a napkin to my nose, he smelled terrible.

"I'm afraid I hit you, Havenland streets are a death trap...whatever were you doing running into it?"



I ask with a look at my clock once again to see if I was late.

Mud splatters all over the window from another reckless driver. I squint a little at the man, something quite familiar about him. Cant place it.

Constantine:


The man blames my driver, cant really contest that unfornatenly.

"Well." I remove the napkin to answer his question. I take notice of his patting, as if I robbed him. I'm sure someone would If I left him on the street. Such a dreadful place.

"I could NOT just leave you there now could I?"
I laugh nervously.

"You'd probably end up in the Purple Flower, mistaken for a courtisen."

...with that hair...

Adrian:

I stop patting myself when I determine nothing was stolen.

How unusual?

I lean back not accustomed to free acts of "kindness"

The stranger's Purple Flower comment gets me going again.

"You think?"

I check my pant fly instead as obviously he was interested

Constantine:

"Or a body to disect at the Golden Tower...either or."

I shrug, then once again check my clock once at the thought of the tower.

"Do you have a ..home?" I ask him unsure I should just drop him off anywhere.
The creature might hurt itself.

Or just get hit ..again.

Constantine:

He points to a house off in the distance. I do not think he is being very honest.

"Rasal Constantine..."
I answer to the request for my name, at least my name to Havenland.

"I know what... you are..." I clear my throat finding it hard to speak of the past like this.

"Are you sure you don't need my help?"
I lean closer looking him in the eyes, I give him subliminal impulses telepathically to trust me.

((My real name is Constantine Sulez.))

Constantine:

I lean back on the purple cushions.
"Your people, its a shame..what happened... but you know there's still residence out there..you guys are...quite.."
I pause what's a word I would call Leon.

"....scrappy."

I wave my hand nonchantley outside to the window.

((Do you really want me to drop you off at that random house or would you rather have a real safe place?))

Constantine:

I smile slightly, glad he was going to give me a chance at least.

I can imagine the bloke hasn't had a easy life out there.

"My club, opening next week. The Golden Rib, its replacing that old decrepit café that burnt down..you wont miss it. Maybe you can get your next drink there. On the house since I hit you and all.."

Constantine:

"Be careful out there! Good bartenders are hard to find I hear."
I call after him, I hope he survives to next week really.
I'd like to think I can help a few people out in this place. He certainly looked like he needed help.


Unfornatenly taking him along to the Tower would just spook him beyond help.
I tell the driver to hurry on now that we let off our guest.

A week later....

Napoleon:

It was the grand opening of the Golden Rib, what a peculiar name indeed. I receive a invitation to most grand openings in Havenland and few disappoint. Humans in all their faults can be quite entertaining at times.

I had a feeling our host was more then human though.

Mr. Constantine was a curious case. I've seen little of him over the years. Oracle Raluca said he is very special.

(Constantine): "Hello Pole, long time no see.." He offers me a drink and I agree to it. It was funny he was serving it himself, as if he did not hire a bar tender for the grand opening of a club.

...So special he could not come up with a more attractive name huh?

I thought staring at him and his magnetic aura as I took a sip.

"Where did you go?"

(Constantine): "Oh no where worth mentioning, what about you??"

"My sisters are annoying, my Father is pissed at this rebellion and that, same old same old."

(Constantine): "Well I hope tonight will be a great distraction for you."

He teases me before limping off to another guest who wanted to talk to him.

Adrian:

This was a bad idea.

I wander in already drunk.

Everyone at the club looked so uppity, a few even stared when I walked in.

Ugh..

*Awkwardly wanders over to the nearest bar to collect my free drink and scram.*

Constantine:

There seemed to be an issues with Freja and Tony's steak dinner. At least they we're in a VIP box on the upper level away from the others.

(Raluca): "Isn't this a waste of your time?" She comments amused by my trivial problems right now.

"No?" I look at her smugly. "I multitask."

She stops and stares at someone who came in for a long moment. He was the only male here with LONG hair so of course I knew who it was.

(Raluca): "What..is that?"

"Excuse me." I dip my head to her before scurrying over.

"Hey you made it."
I few people whisper wondering why the host is greeting that sorry excuse and not the next human dvia coming in right after him.

"Have a drink, but the catch is you gotta sit down and talk with me first."
I tease him with a shot glass but keep the whole bottle out next to it.

Adrian:

I notice some hotty next to Rasal checking me out.

I think she likes the hair.

*Grins amused and takes off hat for everyone to have a better look.*

Rasal soon approaches and wants to talk to me.

"Ok sure?"

I look at him puzzled.

Constantine:

I lean over the guy with a smirk.

((You know what's the point about this place, I'll know everything that they are doing...when there're doing it. ))

"What about you. Still like your old establishment more" I ask out loud.

Adrian:

I was a simple fellow and perhaps a wee bit too drunk for this conversation.

*Mouths to Constantine in confusion.*

???????

"Uhm.. no?"

What are they doing?

Constantine:

Adrian tells me he doesn't like his old establishment.

"Ah then do you want to work here? I'll pay you double they are paying you.."

I say and pour another one for myself.

"Its stuffy in here, we need more REAL people you know?"

Adrian:

I raised my eyebrows shocked at his offer.

Hell, I would work for half less if it meant getting out of that hellhole.

"What's the catch?"

I ask skeptically.

Probably butt stuff most likely.

Constantine:

I purse my lips at Adrian asking about catches, such a cynic. His thoughts were quiet worrisome as well.

"A few meaningful chitchats like this now and again would be nice."
I say innocently taking a sip of my drink.

(((Don't worry, after opening night it will be less ritzy.)))

Adrian:

I blink, sizing Constantine up to be nothing more than a weird lonely guy.

"Well then you have yourself a deal!"

I slap his arm in approval mid sip ;D

Constantine:

I buck over at the 'contact' behind the bar 'feeling' all of Adrian's trauma and flashes of confusing vivid memories and 'feels'*

"Errrmah.."

*muffles my reaction with my sleeve trying not to ruin the party*

whooooooooooooooa this guy, he's a keeper.

Crystal:

I enter 'The Golden Rib' curious. Other people may flash invites to this shindig but I have a press pass. Write some puff piece that some fancy bar won't let you in and you can claim all sorts of things as to why... It's really the pass that just keeps on giving. I love my job.

As for why I'm here, I heard the vape man himself was running it. That in itself wasn't the scoop. But I'm more curious about what that link entails. AKA, I wonder if there's anything special in the drinks then...

I see the man of the hour himself... in... quite a peculiar way...

There is definitely some fancy chemical in the drinks, indeed for a gentleman of his pursuits already wasted and trying not to hurl on his nice new floor...

I lean against the bar and look down at him.

"Better slow down, sir. The night is still young and all." I wink and take a photo for the paper.

Constantine:

I slowly turn my head confused for a moment at the voice and tone. But I am blinded by LIGHT.
I shield my eyes with my sleeve with a slight hiss.

I hear Grandmother Raluca in my head to try to contain myself before I scare away the latest Duke.

"Ha... thank you for thinking of my health... ma'am."

I raise up from such a disgracefull position she caught me in. The Tabloid lady. Of course I know her work, I do like to stay informed...

Though given the 'folks' of good ole' Havenland would a scandalous picture of me really just help the place more then hurt it?

"You know we have golden ribs, on the menu its not just a name. " I wink.

Crystal:

"Oh really?"

I look down at my camera making sure the photo was good and not blurry. He recovered rather quickly which is surprising. Had no time for more shots to choose from.

I leave the camera to dangle around my neck on its lanyard as I take out my notebook.

"And pray tell what kind of rib it is?.. And is it really gold? and is there anything you'd like the people of Havenland to know about? Free press is good press after all. And buying an advertisement with my publisher would go a long way to get the word out."

Not that I believed whatever he'd tell me at face value, but you never know what he might accidentally slip up or small details that could lead to bigger trails to follow...

Constantine:

I take a short breath.

"Right."
I smile, stopping to wave to more people coming in.

"It's elk, hunted from the Old Earl's own grounds.. the best on the asteroid. Sprinkled with genuine gold dust from the cuttings of the idols crafted in the Golden Tower."

I do tell the details of our 'finest' dish here.

"I'd tell them, the fish and chips are also pretty good on a budget. We have ..or will have a siren tank by next week.. I think they used to belong to the Gov Hep."

I try not to think about WHO killed him. Not thinking about my parents tonight.

Crystal:

I write down notes and nod.

Elk from the Old Earl grounds and idol gold dust...

Hmm...

"Idol cutting gold dust?... Fascinating... Do you think that will..."

I raise an eyebrow.

"Effect people in any way?.." *pause* "That makes your dish even more special?..."

Constantine:

She wants to know the effects.

I grin a little.

"I believe they were fertility god idols.... It's rumored to help older men have the stamina of Teto."

Crystal:

"Ha!" I snicker as I write that down and circle it.

"That's quite an effect, sir. I sure hope it doesn't disappoint. If it gets good reviews maybe I'll take my husband to dinner here." I wink and laugh.

Another patron that had recently walked in that I hadn't paid any attention to, overhears us.

(M. McKay): "If I had the money and the girls I'd open a brothel next door. Double the cash flow."

"Oh really now?" I smirk.

(M. McKay): "So much close convince would be sure to put even the Purple Flower out of business..."

There was a look in his eye.

I close my notebook. "I'm sure you'd love that..."

I look back to the owner. "Thank you for your time, Sir." I look from him to his long-haired friend and bowed my head curtly. "Good day."

Constantine:

I smile widely with the hopes the women was indeed impressed and might give some good publicity after all.

"I'll think about that advisement, once I get a catchy slogan."

I call back as she bids Gooday and makes up the chit chat with Ethan.

"No Thank you."
I look at Adrian teasingly.

"See not everyone who comes in is such a bore."

As if the devil himself has been summoned.

Edward comes in with both arms occupied by 'flower girls'.

Daisy and Chrysanthum.

"Drink for the ladies." I call.

Adrian:

I tilt my head at Constantine with the interesting looking woman.

She was a real charmer.

I turn back to my drink despite Constantine’s efforts to impress or direct me to join the conversation.

That one was all on him I’m afraid, half wondering if the lady in red was a reporter of some sort.

Constantine:

I am very charmed by Adrian not loosing his cool with the lovely Miss Crystal!
Many of these patrons thought he'd be slobbering over the table like most of the chive class, ready to give out secret.

((Not easily swayed by a pretty female, you'll prove useful after all!!)) I tell him finding the positive in his inattentiveness.

I watch how he reacts to the Pimp Lord Edward of the Purple Flower all dapper in Purple - to see how he reacts.

(Edward): "Are you a bartender or are you just drinking behind the counter for fun?" He makes a throatily noise demanding service.

Flower girls giggle in the background.

Adrain:

I almost choke on my drink at the rude bloke across the bar.

“Was I supposed to be starting today?”

I turn to Constantine trying to remember what I agreed to?

If he answers yes then I’m spitting in purples drink. If he says no I’m..... spitting in purples drink.

Constantine:

I look between them awkwardly.

"Uh he's just been hired, I can get you one. Please try to enjoy the party Adrian."

I smile and turn to get him a drink. Edward snorts and looks at Adrian with interest.

Adrian:

I frown at Constantine wondering if he read my mind there.

*Pouts.*

Purple looks at me in interest and I stare at him annoyed.

“What are you looking at?”

*Waits in anticipation for a reason to punch this guy.*

Edward:

I frown at the serf getting off serving me but I was content enough with my drink.
I sip trying to figure out something, he seemed familiar.

He wants to know why I'm staring.

"Weren't you a women awhile ago?"

I make a long hair gesture.

"Shame, you would have made a great 'flower' girl.."

Adrian:

Oh for Fuck’s sake!

I turn away from the foul gitt finally recognizing him for who he was.

His girls caused me enough trouble at my last job. Especially that one. What was her name again Lily? Lyla?

Lydia!

“Surprised you still can’t differentiate between the sexes, considering you spend all day in bed with both of them.”

I mutter under my breath

Edward:

I think the peon tries to insult me.

He's not wrong about one thing..


I smirk at him, maybe his cut wasnt so bad after all. It did complement those eyes.

"Oh I know many anatomies inside and out, I quite liked disection before I 'retired'." I wink at him.

"If this job doesn't work out, you can always grow it back and come work for me."

Adrian:

Sweet Jesus...

I walked away. FAR AWAY before I did something “stupid”.

*Dodges Ariel and almost shits self.*

Constantine:

I observe Adrian ninja himself out of the party like a pro at the sight of Ariel.

Hmmm...

I wonder if I bump into her I could pick her mind for thoughts of him in there. As I push myself up on the counter to go over and 'greet' her. Grandmother beats me too it.

Ugh...
I try not to show my distress before she reminds me...

(Raluca): "Don't you have a prince to talk to??"

"Yeah.." I smile nervously going over to Napoleon. Impressing him was important and all..

I side eye Grandmother greeting Ariel all the same..

(Raluca): "How nice of you to show up Ariel, does that mean all is well on your homefront?"

Napoleon was tapping the golden lava lamp tube pillars around the dining area.

"Sorry no fishtank..prince-y."

(Napoleon): "Ah, no need for apologizes, its more progressive I think." He turned back to me and I let out a nervous laugh. I don't quite remember Govender Hepaci's time but it was rumored he had live aquatics for his club.

"I think we've come very far as a society, dont you."
I offer him a drink that looked like glitter trying to pick up a conversation with him. He is ever so exclusive till theres a bloody party.

Ariel:

The infamous Raluca is among the first to greet me.

Strange, she isn't typically the "crowd" I tend to attract?

"As well as can be I suppose?"

My efforts to preserve the family line were going nowhere but what did I expect when the majority of subjects I had to work on were land animals.

I pick up a cocktail from a waiter's serving tray and take a generous sip.

"Quite a bit of your bird friends about yes?"

I referred to the hags surrounding the perimeter of our tiny domed existence but perhaps this wasn't the best of small-talk for women like us.

"They are quite extraordinary aren't they? Much like that dress."

I switch the topic to something more neutral.

Raluca:

I tilt my head at the flattering wondering if she thought I could provide some kind of passage on through, not that there was anything more. I'm sure it kept many still going to think so.

"Just another necessary evil is it not?"

I bat my eyes at her playfully. It would be less torturous to be with my accursed kind brotheren out there but little Orion wants to keep an eye on me personally.

"Did you by chance see the man at the bar today?" I change the subject to better understand his reaction.

Ariel:

I ponder Raluca's response but do not care enough to inquire further.

I had other matters to attend to.

She then asks about another who was here today.

"I did not."

I take another sip intrigued.

"Someone I should know?"

Raluca looked like she was up to no good, but frankly, I had a hard time imaging anyone on this rock worth caring about.

Raluca:

I tilt my head at Ariel's response, perhaps his bolt was nothing. Time would tell.

I lean over closer.

"He was a very attractive male, I thought you might snatch him up before I could.." I say teasingly.

"Suppose someone hither beat us to him, prayhaps' the Judge?" I give a fake pout before returning to my drink amused.

Ariel:

I raise my eyebrows somewhat surprised at Raluca's response.

"Oh?"

I look around the bar but don't see anyone in particular that stood out.

"Hmm perhaps."

I turn to glance over at Constantine for a moment then glance over at Raluca.

"Constantine seems to be settling in nicely. He must be proud at such a successful grand opening."

I glance around the important figures in the establishment.
